Rebecca Kirtman Memorial Scholarship Fund (Becca's Closet)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must enroll full time in an accredited college, university or vocational school in the United States in the fall.
  5. Must have an unweighted grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Must have made an outstanding contribution to his/her local community through notable and sustained involvement in Becca's Closet.
  7. Must reside in Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach Counties in Florida.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school students residing in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties in Florida who have been involved with Becca's Closet are eligible to apply for this award. Students must enroll full time and have an unweighted grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The purpose of this scholarships is to encourage high school students who have demonstrated outstanding community service in high school or college to continue their efforts throughout their lives and to encourage others to do the same.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship funds awarded will be sent directly to the recipient's institution. A previous recipient may re-apply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Becca's Closet website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit official transcripts; two letters of recommendation, one from an adult sponsor and one from a faculty sponsor; and a typed essay of no more than 1,000 words in length describing his/her involvement and experiences with Becca's Closet.Applications must be postmarked by the deadline date. Personal drop-off and overnight delivery will not be accepted. Late submissions will not be considered.
