Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 25 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must demonstrate a superior academic record.
  3. Must be a high school senior or high school graduate at the time of application.
  4. Must demonstrate a commitment to civic engagement.
  5. Must attend Bucknell University.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must plan to attend a college or university in Pennsylvania.

Application requirements for the Bucknell University Presidential Fellowship are:

  • CSS profile by 1/15/2020
  • FAFSA by 1/15/2020
Additional Information: The Presidential Fellowship recognizes the finest applicants through a thorough evaluation of each candidate who demonstrates exceptional potential to the university. Recipients present superior academic profiles, highlighting a very rigorous curriculum, superior grades and standardized test scores with a commitment to school and civic engagement. In addition, given the annual research opportunity, candidates display an eagerness for scholarly endeavors. Bucknell plans to offer approximately 80 Presidential Fellowships in order to enroll approximately 25 students.

Award Amount: $20,000 annually and a $1,500 research opportunity, renewable for up to three additional years based on satisfactory academic progress.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $80,000.

Students applying to Bucknell University must complete a College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile at www.collegeboard.com using Bucknell's CSS code of 2050. CSS Profiles must be complete by Nov. 15 for early decision consideration, or Jan. 15 for regular decision. Upon application and enrollment in the university, students must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. By May 10, students must complete and submit the following documentation: signed copy of all pages and schedules of parents' prior year federal income tax return; Copies of all parents' W-2 and 1099 forms; Signed copy of all pages and schedules of student's most recent federal income tax return; Entrance Loan Counseling for the Federal Direct Loan; and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Direct Loan program. Students who complete the financial aid process by the listed deadline dates will be considered for a variety of financial assistance programs and scholarships.
