Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Catawba, Burke, Caldwell, Alexander, Iredell or Lincoln County, North Carolina.
  2. Must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, or as a straight LGBT ally committed to the cause of equality.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This scholarship is available for current high school seniors who reside in Catawba, Burke, Caldwell, Alexander, Iredell or Lincoln County, North Carolina. Additional Information: The Catawba Valley Pride Scholarship is dedicated to assisting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT allied students further their education to become successful adults.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the Catawba Valley Pride, Inc. website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must submit a completed application form, as well as the following supplemental documentation: an essay of 500 to 1,000 words answering the prompts listed on the application form; a copy of high school transcripts; two letters of recommendation (which may be submitted in separate envelopes); and a signed release form. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
