Number of Awards & Eligibility: Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Each student meeting the requirements will receive an award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must have an unweighted grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
  5. Must have an ACT score of 25 or higher OR an SAT score of 1200 (math/critical reading) or higher.
  6. Must plan to attend Cedarville University in Ohio.
  7. Must enroll full time.
  8. Must be a Christian.
  9. Must plan to attend a college or university in Ohio.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. Christian high school seniors who have a grade point average of 3.2 and an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1200 or higher are eligible for this award. Students will be considered upon full-time admission to Cedarville University in Ohio.

Application requirements for the Cedarville University Dean’s Excellence Award are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • ACT/SAT scores
  • $30 app. fee
Additional Information: Cedarville University always considers a student's highest ACT composite score or SAT combined score (critical reading and math) from a single test date. The university does not recombine or average SAT or ACT scores from multiple test dates. The Academic Excellence Award may not be combined with the Cedarville Scholar or National Scholar Awards, but it may be combined with other grants and scholarships.

Award Amount: $11,000 per year. The award amount is dependent on the recipient's unweighted grade point average and ACT or SAT score. All awards are renewable for up to six additional semesters as long as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $40,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Cedarville University website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student is considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit ACT/SAT scores, a $30 application fee, transcripts, a completed high school recommendation form, and a completed church leader recommendation form. There is not a set deadline date for this award. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but awarding of this scholarship is based on the student's ACT/SAT test scores and high school cumulative grade point average as of the listed semester deadlines. Applications completed by March 1 will have priority consideration for financial aid.
