Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, there were 43 scholarships awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a high school senior, undergraduate student, or graduate student.
  4. Must be a Christian.
  5. Must be preparing to enter full-time Christian service/ministry.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are preparing to enter full-time Christian ministry.

Application requirements for the Champions for Christ Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Photograph
  • Recommendation letter
  • Personal statements (2)
Additional Information: The Champions for Christ Foundation was established in 1986 by Mac Snyder as a member at City View First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. The vision of the Foundation was to help students going into full-time ministry with scholarship assistance. Students will be notified by email whether or not they were awarded a scholarship after the board meets to review applications. This is usually four to six weeks after the deadline.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable; previous recipients may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Champions for Christ Foundation website by clicking on the 'New Applicants' link. The student must provide the following materials on the online application: his/her most recent transcript (must include name, ID number, and cumulative grade point average); a personal photograph (must be a .jpg file of 1 kb-1 mb in size); a letter of recommendation from his/her pastor (.pdf, .jpg, .doc/x); a personal statement describing his/her salvation experience and call to ministry; and a personal statement describing his/her doctrinal beliefs. Applications must be submitted by midnight EST on the deadline date.
