Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be majoring in or planning to major a field related to agriculture such as home economics, family studies, or related fields such as veterinary medicine.
  2. Must be a current high school senior or undergraduate student.
  3. Must be a graduating senior or previous graduate at a Chelan County, Washington High School.

Description: The Chelan County Cattlemen’s Scholarship is available for current seniors at a Chelan County high school as well as previous graduates of a Chelan County high school. Applicants must be majoring in or planning to major a field related to agriculture such as home economics, family studies, or related fields such as veterinary medicine.

Additional Information: Although the Chelan County Cattlemen no longer exists as an organization, the money they had previously raised for scholarships continues to provide a legacy for the members through a fund managed by a committe at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Awards are provided annually to Chelan County students who are students who are majoring in or planning to major in agriculture, home economics, family studies, or related fields such as veterinary medicine. Scholarship selection will be based primarily on academic achievements and unmet financial need, although additional consideration will be given to children and grandchildren of Chelan County Cattlemen members. Award recipients will be notified in early May and will be required to provide additional documentation such as a signed scholarship agreement and verification of enrollment.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
