Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies annually, depending on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must reside in a state other than South Carolina.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. Must rank in the top 10% of his/her high school class.
  6. Must have an SAT score of 1320 or higher, or an ACT score of 28 or higher.
  7. Must attend a college or university in South Carolina.
  8. Must attend Clemson University.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who reside in a state other than South Carolina. Applicants must attend Clemson University, must rank in the top 10% of his/her high school class, and must have an SAT score of 1320 or higher, or an ACT score of 28 or higher.

Application requirements for the Clemson Non-Resident Merit Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • $70 admission application fee
  • Counselor information form
  • Official SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: This scholarship is provided to all non-resident students who qualify for Clemson's academic scholarship requirements.

Award Amount: $7,500 to $15,000 annually, depending on the applicant's standardized test scores.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $45,000.

Information and applications for this award are available at the Clemson University website using the link provided. To be considered for this scholarship, students must apply for admission Clemson University. Applications must be completed online, and must be accompanied by a $70 application fee and official copies of SAT and/or ACT scores sent directly from the testing organization to Clemson. Current high school seniors applying for first-time freshman application must also submit a counselor information form to be completed by the student's high school guidance counselor. Upon admission to Clemson University, there is no additional scholarship application required to be considered for academic merit and recruiting scholarships. Eligible students will be notified upon admission.
