Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must enroll full time at a four-year college or university.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must be planning to major in art.
  4. Must reside in and attend college in Ventura County, CA.

Description: The Community Folk Art Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Ventura County California who are planning to major in art while enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university.

Additional Information: The Community Folk Art Scholarship is provided through a partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation and seeks to reward local area high school seniors who are pursuing a passion for art through college studies. Applicants must demonstrate artistic talent, academic potential, and a strong desire to continue creating art.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications for the Community Folk Art Scholarship are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
