Number of Awards & Eligibility: Six awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a resident of one of the following NC counties: Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Nash, Wilson, Alamance, Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Person and Caswell.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in the following NC counties: Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Nash, Wilson, Alamance, Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Person and Caswell. Applicants must be accepted to and registered with an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Application requirements for the Couch Oil Cares Scholarship are:

  • Essay
Additional Information: Finalists may be selected for an interview with the scholarship review committee. Upon selection, the scholarships will be paid directly to the school in one installment after proof of acceptance and registration is received.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the Couch Oil website and may be accessed using the provided link. To be considered for this award, applicants must submit a completed application form in addition to the following documents: official transcripts for all high school coursework completed; a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or advisor; a letter of acceptance from the student's intended college, community college, or university; a resume detailing work experience as well as any significant honors or awards the student has won; two essays, as described on the application form; and any additional information that may be relevant to the decisions of the selection committee. Scholarship applications and supporting documents may be sent by mail or email, and must be received no later than the deadline date.
