Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Pinellas County, Florida.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Preference is given to students expressing an interest in library sciences.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Pinellas County, Florida who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a record of community service. Preference will be given to students who express an interest in library sciences.

Additional Information: Sponsored by the Clearwater Public Library, and provided in honor of David & Eugenia L. Berry, this scholarship is awarded each year to a Pinellas County high school senior who demonstrates academic achievement and a record community service. Students who express an interest in pursuing a career in library services will receive additional consideration.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Pinellas Education Foundation website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must complete an online application form consisting of 12 steps. Completed applications will include information about the following items: the student's academic record; participation in community, service, and extracurricular activities; financial need as detailed in the Student Aid Report obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); information about subjects the student is interested in through a list of prospective majors; as well as the names of any colleges or universities the student has applied to or been accepted to. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Students applying for the David & Eugenia L. Berry Scholarship must also submit a one-page personal statement that includes the applicant's biographical sketch, educational goals, and vocational aspirations. Students should also submit at least one character reference attesting to the applicant's moral standing. The personal statement and charcter reference must be mailed to the address provided. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date, and all supporting documents must be mailed to the address provided, postmarked no later than the deadline date.
