Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have participated in 4-H.
  3. Must plan to study or be studying poultry science.
  4. Must attend or plan to attend North Carolina State University.
  5. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.
  6. Must plan to enroll or be enrolled full time.

Description: This scholarship is available for undergraduate students at North Carolina State University who are studying poultry science and have participated in 4-H.

Application requirements for the Dr. Gary S. and Patricia H. Davis Poultry Science Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Photograph
  • Test scores
  • Resume
Additional Information: Please note: All eligible students must have filed an application for admission to at least one institution of higher learning, and must arrange for and take the SAT and/or ACT. It is the student's responsibility to make all arrangements for college admissions. Selection will be based on the following: 4-H record (50 percent); scholastic achievement as measured by performance in high school courses (25 percent); and college aptitude as measured by performance on college entrance exams, such as the SAT and ACT (25 percent). Recipients will be selected in March. Recipients must attend the 4-H Scholarships and Awards Luncheon held during the N.C. 4-H Congress. Recipients may be required to attend the CALS Donor Recognition Event in the fall.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. All 4-H scholarships will be paid directly to the college or university. They will not be made payable to the recipient nor his/her parents.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
