Description: The Dr. Patrick Molloy Migrant Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Chelan, Washington. Applicants must be migrants to the United States and must qualify for other migrant-assistance programs.

Additional Information: Funded and established through the will of Dr. Patrick Molloy, this scholarship is awarded annually to students in the Lake Chelan School District who are migrants to the United States. The award is administered and provided through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, a centralized charitable foundation that provides assistance to groups and individuals in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties of Washington State. The selection of scholarship recipients is based primarily on a combination of academic achievements, strength of recommendations, and unmet fianncial need as calculated by the applicant's expected financial contribution. Recipients will be notified in early May and will be required to provide additional documentation such as a signed scholarship agreement and verification of enrollment.

Award Amount: $1,300 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,300.

The Dr. Patrick Molloy Migrant Scholarship has closed for 2019 but is expected to be offered again in 2020. Please check back in January of 2020 when applications will become available. Applications for the Dr. Patrick Molloy Migrant Scholarship must be completed online at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington website. To apply, students must first create an online account with the community foundation's application portal and complete the eligibility quiz. Students will then be able to access the individual applications for any scholarships they are eligible through the foundation. Applicants are encouraged to gather the following materials prior to beginning the application: their expected family contribution (EFC) from their Student Aid Report (SAR); transcripts from their current educational institution; email addresses for two individuals who will provide a recommendation for the applicant; and a list of activities, awards, and honors the student has received. The Student Aid Report is obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's current-year FAFSA must be completed at the time of application. Students may apply to multiple scholarships they are eligible through the foundation application portal by clicking on "copy answers." Students are also advised to pay close attention to any specific short answers, essays, or other supplemental materials required for each specific scholarship's application. All submissions must be completed online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
