Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants and available funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must attend Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
  4. Must demonstrate high academic achievement.
  5. Must be a high school senior (or its equivalent) OR a first-time transfer applicant to Duquesne University.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $15,000 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $32,000.

To be considered for this scholarship, the student must apply for admission to Duquesne University (DU). No separate scholarship application is required. Information on applying for admission is available on the DU website by clicking on the 'Scholarships, Costs & Payments' link on the left-hand side of the page. Admissions application are available in online and paper formats. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following: an application fee of $50 USD; original or attested copies of official academic records from at least the last four years of education (sent directly from the school); a completed 'Mandatory Information Form' (available on the DU website); one or more letters of recommendation; a personal essay of 300 words or more that addresses the topics listed on the DU website; and immigration/financial verification documents (details available on the DU website). Admissions applications are accepted throughout the year for most majors; however, to be considered for the Libermann Scholarship, it is recommended that the student apply by April 1.
