Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible students.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have listed Faulkner University as his/her first-choice university with the National Merit Corporation.
  4. Must enroll full time (12 or more semester hours).
  5. Must be confirmed as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist.
  6. Must be an entering freshman applicant.

Description: This award is for U.S. high school seniors who have been confirmed as National Merit Finalists or Semi-Finalists. Students must designate Faulkner University as their first-choice university with the National Merit Corporation.

Additional Information: To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be in the traditional program and classified as a traditional student. Adults who are classified as traditional students are not eligible Admission to Faulkner University is dependent upon previous education, character, and the desire to attend a Christian University. Those applicants who qualify for admission are accepted without regard to race, religion, gender, handicap, or national origin. All students who apply to Faulkner University must be willing to uphold the values and ideals of the University. Students receiving a scholarship or award from Faulkner University whose financial aid packages exceed the direct cost of education (tuition, fees, room and board) will not receive a credit or a refund. In these cases, the amount of the scholarship or award from Faulkner will be adjusted to preclude the awarding of a credit or refund. All students receiving scholarships or awards are required to apply for all federal and state aid available.

Award Amount: Finalists will receive funding equal to full tuition, room, board, and mandatory fees when coordinated with state, federal, and institutional scholarships and awards. Semi-Finalists will receive an award equal to cost of full tuition. One half of the annual amount will be awarded in the fall term, and the other half will be awarded in the spring semester. All awards are renewable for up to nine additional semesters upon meeting the continuation criteria.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $105,575.

Scholarship information is available on the Faulkner University website. Students are considered for this scholarship upon admission to Faulkner University. A separate scholarship application is not required. Admissions information is available online at www.faulkner.edu/undergrad/admissions/. The student may apply for admission online or request a paper application. In addition to a completed admissions application, the student must submit the following: a $25 non-refundable application fee; a $50 non-refundable housing reservation fee, if university housing is requested; two completed reference forms, one from his/her high school guidance counselor and one from a church leader, if possible; official high school transcripts; and official ACT and/or SAT scores. Admissions applications are accepted until the incoming class is full; however, students are encouraged to apply by December 15 for priority consideration.
