Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must reside in Wenatchee and attend Wenatchee High School.

Description: The Fisk and Lila Gerhardt Scholarship is available for seniors from Wenatchee High School who have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher. Applicants must plan to attend a four-year college or university upon graduation.

Additional Information: The Fisk and Lila Gerhardt Scholarship was established through the will of Lila Gerhardt and honors her and her husband Fisk. Fisk and Lila were long time residents of the Wenatchee Valley and lifetime members of the Wenatchee Lodge 1186, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. Scholarships are administered and distributed through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Selection of recipients is based primarily on academic merit and potential for future academic success, although consideration may also be given to applicants who show high levels of unmet financial need. Recipients are notified in mid May.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

The Fisk and Lila Gerhardt Scholarship has closed for 2019 but is expected to be offered again in 2020. Please check back in January of 2020 when applications will become available. Applications for the Fisk and Lila Gerhardt Scholarship must be completed online at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington website. To apply, students must first create an online account with the community foundation's application portal and complete the eligibility quiz. Students will then be able to access the individual applications for any scholarships they are eligible through the foundation. Applicants are encouraged to gather the following materials prior to beginning the application: their expected family contribution (EFC) from their Student Aid Report (SAR); transcripts from their current educational institution; email addresses for two individuals who will provide a recommendation for the applicant; and a list of activities, awards, and honors the student has received. The Student Aid Report is obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's current-year FAFSA must be completed at the time of application. Students may apply to multiple scholarships they are eligible through the foundation application portal by clicking on "copy answers." Students are also advised to pay close attention to any specific short answers, essays, or other supplemental materials required for each specific scholarship's application. All submissions must be completed online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
