Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior planning to continue his/her education in a degree program.

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors are eligible for this award. Students must submit a five-minute video explaining what the United States flag means to them.

Application requirements for the Flag Manufacturers Association of America Scholarship are:

  • Video entry (4 copies)
  • Student info
  • Personal statement
Additional Information: Employees of FMAA member companies may not enter this scholarship contest. Videos will be judged on content, original thought, visual imagery, and patriotic expression. Three FMAA board members will review entries and make the final decision. The winner will be initially notified by email. A decision will be made by July 4. The winning video entry will become the property of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America and be made available on YouTube and the FMAA web site. Press releases will be sent to media outlets after the winning entry has been posted.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

There is no application necessary to apply for this award. To apply, the student must submit a video entry of no more than five minutes in length explaining what the United States flag means to him/her. The student must submit the video to a website such as YouTube or Viemo, with a link sent by email to [email protected]. The video entry and student information must be submitted to the FMAA headquarters at the address provided by the deadline date.
