Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must possess a valid California ID.
  3. Must be a current high school senior or a junior who will graduate high school in the spring and plans to enter an eligible postsecondary institution in the fall.
  4. Must plan to attend an accredited California four-year college/university or community college.
  5. Must pursue agricultural studies.
  6. Must enroll full time.
  7. Must be a California resident.
  8. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: The Friends of the California State Fair offers 12 categories of scholarships with varying eligibility requirements. Applicants may apply for only ONE scholarship category of their choice per year. Applicants must meet all of the criteria for a specific scholarship to be an eligible candidate. The eligibility requirements differ based on the specific scholarship so please double check your eligibility status before selecting a scholarship. Scholarships and eligibility requirements are listed on the Categories tab of this application. All scholarships have the 3 requirements listed below in addition to scholarship-specific requirements. To be eligible for any of the awards you must: have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 although some scholarships require a higher GPA plan to attend college in the Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2023 be a California resident with a valid ID

Additional Information: The Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program is a collaborative effort between the Friends of the California State Fair, the California Exposition & State Fair, the California State Fair Agricultural Advisory Council, the Ironstone Concours D'Elegance Foundation, Blue Diamond Growers, and Western Fairs Association. An independent selection committee will evaluate the applications and select the recipients considering community service, academics, and the application essay(s). Notifications are sent to recipients and applicants not selected to receive an award via email mid to late April. Employees and immediate family members of employees and Board of Directors of the California Exposition and State Fair, Friends of the California State Fair, the California State Fair Agricultural Council, Cultural Advisory Committee, and the Ironstone Concours Foundation are not eligible for this program.

Award Amount: Scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
