Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Georgetown, Maine.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of Georgetown, Maine.

Application requirements for the Georgetown Working League Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Essay
  • Personal statement
  • Activities list
  • College acceptance letter
Additional Information: The committee will mail letters to all applicants announcing its decisions no later than June 1.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $2,000 annually, non-renewable. Students are encouraged to apply each year, whether or not they have been given an award previously. If the student receives a scholarship and does not attend school, the scholarship money must be returned in its entirety to the scholarship committee.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available at the Morse High School guidance office in Bath, Maine, or by writing to the scholarship committee at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a one-page essay (may be typed) describing his/her work, school, church, and community activities, honors he/she has received, his/her career goals, and any other information he/she believes would be of interest to the scholarship committee, including a statement of why he/she should receive a scholarship; and a copy of his/her college acceptance letter (or names of schools to which he/she has applied, if notice of acceptance has not been received). *Please note: The application must be handwritten in ink. No emailed or faxed applications will be accepted. The application and all supplemental materials must be mailed to the address provided, postmarked by the deadline date.
