In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  5. Must plan to major in education, counseling, or human relations.
  6. Must attend a public high school in Pinellas County, Florida.

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Pinellas County, Florida who plan to major in education, human relations, or counseling. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Provided each year in honor of Harry Danielson, this scholarship is awarded to a Pinellas-county high school senior who demonstrates academic excellence and a desire to pursue a career in education, human relations, or counseling. Financial need will also be considered during the selection of this award.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Pinellas Education Foundation website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must complete an online application form consisting of 12 steps. Completed applications will include information about the following items: the student's academic record; participation in community7 for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); information about subjects the student is interested in through a list of prospective majors; as well as the names of any colleges or universities the student has applied to or been accepted to. The student's academic information may be sent directly from his/her high school. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
