Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be planning to pursue a career as a lawyer.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student at the time of application.

Description: The Herbert Law Office Scholarship Contest is available for graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college or university students who wish to pursue a career as a lawyer.

Application requirements for the Herbert Law Office Scholarship Contest are:

  • Essay OR Video submission
Additional Information: The Herbert Law Office Scholarship Contest is provided annually in hopes of encouraging students to think about their motivations for pursuing a career in law. All submissions will be evaluated on a combination of originality, creativity, and overall verbal or written quality. Information about the selected winner may be publicized through a variety of social and traditional media outlets for promotional purposes. Students who do not wish for their submissions and names to be made public must notify Herbert Law in writing.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Application details and complete information about the Herbert Law Office Scholarship Contest is available online at the provided link. Students have two choices in how they apply for this scholarship: video or essay. All submissions must focus on why the student wishes to become a lawyer. Video submissions must be between one and two minutes in length and published publicly to Youtube. Videos must also be submitted to the Herbert Law Office Facebook page and shared on the student's personal Facebook page. Students choosing the essay option must write an original response of between 1,000 and 1,500 words in length and submit their writing to the provided email address. All submissions must be received no later than the deadline date.
