Number of Awards & Eligibility: Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Each student meeting the requirements will receive an award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
  4. Must have a SAT score (math/critical reading) of 1050 or higher OR a ACT score of 23 or higher.
  5. Must attend Hiram College in Ohio.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Ohio.

Additional Information: Hiram College created this scholarship to recognize academic achievement and help students and families who deserve a private college education during a time of economic uncertainty. An applicant that successfully submits his/her FAFSA and application for admission by February 1 should expect to receive a financial package sometime in early March.

Award Amount: $2,000-$10,000  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

There is not a separate application for this award. Each eligible student is automatically considered upon admission. Applications for admission are available online from the Hiram College website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit official transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, a essay on the topic listed on the application, a recommendation letter from a teacher; a secondary school report to be completed by the guidance or college counselor; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, and at college financial aid offices. There is not a set deadline to apply for this award. Applications are accepted throughout the year. For priority consideration, the student should submit his/her application by Feb. 1 for the fall semester.
