Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to two scholarships offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must major in architecture, art, or forestry.
  3. Must be a high school senior or currently enrolled as an undergraduate student to apply for this award.
  4. Must have graduated from a public or private high school in Choctaw County, Oklahoma.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Hopson-Laurent Scholarship Fund is available for graduates of a public or private high school in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. Applicants must plan to major in architecture, art, or forestry.

Application requirements for the Hopson-Laurent Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: The Hopson-Laurent Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 to benefit qualified applicants from Fort Towson and Choctaw County, Oklahoma.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to an additional three years if the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications and information about this award are available on The Dallas Foundation website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application form, interested students must submit the following information: a certified high school transcript indicating class rank and grade point average; a typed, three-page personal statement addressing the topics listed on the application; and one or more letters of recommendation from individuals who are not related to the applicant. All applications and supporting documents must be postmarked by the deadline date. Late and incomplete applications cannot be considered.
