Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three hundred fifty scholarships are awarded
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen and Texas resident.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior from eligible school.
  3. Must plan to attend an accredited, not-for-profit college in the state of Texas and have SAT/ACT scores.

Description: ?As one of the largest scholarship providers in the U.S., the Rodeo has presented more than 19,000 scholarships valued at $230 million?since?1957.?Currently, more than 2,300 students are on Rodeo scholarships, attending more than 80 different Texas colleges and universities. The value of these scholarships is more than $50 million.

Application requirements for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA by 10/31/2019. Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores.
Additional Information: The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ awards several scholarships. Applicants can apply for any one they meet eligibility requirements for but can only win one scholarship. Each year, more than 800 scholarships are awarded to Texas students by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. As one of the largest scholarship providers in the U.S., the Rodeo has presented more than 19,000 scholarships valued at $230 million since 1957. Currently, more than 2,300 students are on Rodeo scholarships, attending more than 80 different Texas colleges and universities. The value of these scholarships is more than $50 million.

Award Amount: The winner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Scholarship will receive 4-year awards of $20,000 each.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000,000.
