Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an active participant in athletics.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must attend a Baltimore City public high school.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Baltimore who are active in athletics. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and must demonstrate work ethic, a sense of fairness, and responsibility.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created to honor and celebrate the life and accomplishments of Hy Zolet, a high school and college athlete. All of those who came into contact with Hy, and his love of life, walked away a better person for knowing him. Through this scholarship, the foundation will strive to identify men and women who exemplify the qualities that Hy exhibited every day.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Information is available online at the CollegeBound Foundation website. Applications are only available online through the online portal. In addition to completing the CollegeBound Foundation Competitive Scholarship Application, the applicant must also submit the following: two letters of recommendation describing the applicant's work ethic, sense of fairness, and ability to succeed; a copy of his/her college acceptance letter(s); a typed essay addressing the applicant's academic and career goals, as well as the steps he/she has taken to achieve these goals; community service verification(s) (if applicable); and a copy of his/her recent high school transcript, including the first semester of the senior year. All application materials must be received by the deadline.
