Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be female.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be a resident of Dutchess, Orange or Ulster Counties in New York.
  4. Must plan to major in physical therapy.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Additional Information: Established by WRRV, this scholarship is awarded each year to a young woman in the Hudson Valley who shares Jen’s positive attitude, desire to help others, and determination to work hard in pursuing a career in physical therapy.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Community Foundation of Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
