Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or college freshman or sophomore.
  4. If a high school senior, must reside in Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Payette, Valley or Washington counties in Idaho; or in Marsing, Homedale, Bruneau or Riggins, Idaho. If a current college student, must attend the University of Idaho or Boise State University. Please note: Preference will be given to high school seniors who choose to attend University of Idaho or Boise State University.
  5. Must be a resident of Idaho.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in certain idaho counties or cities and college freshmen and sophomores who attend the University of Idaho or Boise State University. Students must be residents of Idaho and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: There is no financial need requirement for this scholarship.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; his/her most recent certified high school and/or college transcripts; a history of employment, if a non-traditional student; a list of extracurricular and community activities (must be certified by a guidance counselor or principal if a high school student); and a one- to three-page creative writing sample addressing the topic listed on the application. Applicants will be required to interview with the scholarship committee. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
