Description: The Joel and Dena Gambord Nursing Scholarship is available for nursing majors at California State University at Monterey Bay. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Joel and Dena Gambord Nursing Scholarship is provided annually to RN to BSN students at California State University, Monterey Bay. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, unmet financial need, and experience with community service. To remain eligible for renewal, students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average, receive good to excellent ratings on all clinical preceptorships, and must complete the CSUMB U.S. Histories and Democratic Participation general education requirement. The Community Foundation for Monterey County is home to more than 45 named scholarship funds, all designed to assist students in the local community who are pursuing higher education. Each year, more than 125 individual scholarships are awarded through these funds to a variety of students of diverse backgrounds, interests, and career goals.

Award Amount: $17,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years. Students must maintain satisfactory academic performance, good clinical review ratings, and must complete the U.S. Histories and Democratic Participation class at CSUMB.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $17,000.
