Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  3. This award is for minority students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must demonstrate a record of leadership or community service.
  6. Must attend a high school in the city of Baltimore, MD.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for minority high school seniors who attend an inner-city school. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a record of community activity and/or leadership.

Additional Information: The Kahdine Ann DaCosta Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership is sponsored by the non-profit I am O'Kah, Inc and is in memory of Kahdine Ann DaCosta, who was a graduate from Morgan State University and an active community member in Baltimore, Maryland. The Kahdine Ann DaCosta Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership aims to embody Kahdine’s commitment to service and dedication to leadership.

Award Amount: $500 to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.

Application information is available at the I am O'Kay, Inc website and must be completed online through The CollegeBound Foundation. Each application must include the following information: a valid email address; a student ID number (Social Security number); a high school transcript including the first semester of the student's senior year; an academic resume including community service, extracurricular engagement, sports, and other activities; a copy of the student's FAFSA report; ACT and/or SAT scores. Applications and supporting materials must be completed online before the deadline date.
