In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have played at least two school sports in the same academic year.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must attend Waterville High School in Waterville, Washington.

Description: The Kellen Biggar Athletic Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors at Waterville High School who have participated in school sports for at least two years.

Additional Information: This scholarship is awarded in memory of Kellen Biggar, a Waterville High School student who graduated in 2000. Kellen loved and excelled at a variety of sports, and was lucky enough to attend college on an athletic scholarship. In turn, scholarships will awarded to current graduating seniors at Waterville High School who have played at least two different sports during the same academic year. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic merit, unmet need, and athletic records.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications for the Kellen Biggar Athletic Scholarship must be completed online at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington website. To apply, students must first create an online account with the community foundation's application portal and complete the eligibility quiz. Students will then be able to access the individual applications for any scholarships they are eligible through the foundation. Applicants are encouraged to gather the following materials prior to beginning the application: their expected family contribution (EFC) from their Student Aid Report (SAR); transcripts from their current educational institution; email addresses for two individuals who will provide a recommendation for the applicant; and a list of activities, awards, and honors the student has received. The Student Aid Report is obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the student's current-year FAFSA must be completed at the time of application. Students may apply to multiple scholarships they are eligible through the foundation application portal by clicking on "copy answers." Students are also advised to pay close attention to any specific short answers, essays, or other supplemental materials required for each specific scholarship's application. All submissions must be completed online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
