Restaurant Association of Maryland Education Foundation (RAMEF)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Usually, one to two awards are offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Maryland.
  3. Must have applied to an RAMEF-recognized professional development program in hospitality or be enrolled in an RAMEF-recognized foodservice/hospitality program and plan to pursue hospitality-related coursework.
  4. Must have completed 400 hours of documented industry experience if the applicant is a high school or college student OR 1,500 hours if the applicant is an industry professional or teacher/instructor.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher if a high school or college applicant.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: High school seniors or older students who have applied to an RAMEF-recognized professional development program in hospitality or are enrolled in an RAMEF-recognized foodservice/hospitality program and plan to pursue hospitality-related coursework are eligible for this award. Students must be Maryland residents, have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and have 400 hours of documented industry experience (if high school/college students) OR 1,500 hours if an industry professional or teacher/instructor.

Additional Information: Judges will score applicants based on the following criteria: grade point average, industry-related work experience, presentation of the application, essay answers, and the completed application.

Award Amount: $500  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
