Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must plan to attend McMurry University in Texas.
  6. Must have an SAT/ACT score of 1220/27 or higher OR rank in the top 5% of his/her graduating class.
  7. Must plan to attend a college or university in Texas.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors who have an SAT/ACT score of 1220/27 OR rank in the top 5% of their graduating class are eligible for this award. Students must be accepted for admission to McMurry University and its honors program.

Application requirements for the McMurry University Honors Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores
  • App. fee
Additional Information: McMurry-based scholarship/awards will not exceed the cost of tuition.

Award Amount: $17,000 to full tuition annually, renewable for three years as long as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $17,000.

There is not a separate application for this award. The student will be automatically considered upon admission to the McMurry University Honors Program. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit transcripts, ACT/SAT scores and a $25 application fee. To be considered for this award, applications to the Honors Program must be received by Feb. 1.
