Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for students in the U.S.
  2. Must plan to attend Meredith College in North Carolina, a women only college.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must be an incoming college freshman.
  5. Must demonstrate superior academic achievement, intellectual promise and leadership ability.
  6. Must be a female.
  7. Must attend college or university in North Carolina.

  • $40 app. fee

  • Honors Program app.
Additional Information: The Meredith Legacy Scholarship is the highest honor available to an entering freshman. The student awarded this prestigious scholarship receives full tuition, room and board, books, supplies, international study, networking opportunities with the College president and alumnae, and other academic enrichment programs. The selection of recipients for this award takes into account superior academic achievement, intellectual promise and leadership ability.

Award Amount: The cost of full tuition, room and board, books and supplies, valued at approximately $52,500 annually. This award is renewable for three additional years subject to the recipient? remaining in good academic standing with the college, being a full-time student, and maintaining a minimum quality point ratio of 3.3 on all courses taken at Meredith.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $210,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Meredith College website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit a $40 application fee; official high school transcript including class rank; an essay of 250 or more words; high school official recommendation; teacher recommendation and SAT/ACT scores. Each student must also request an Honors Program application, available from the Office of Admissions or www.meredith.edu/honors/ to be considered. Along with the Honors Program application, the student must a resume and an essay on one of the two topics listed on the application.
