In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  2. Must play baseball.
  3. Must reside in and attend a public high school in Ventura County, California.

Description: The Mike Frick Memorial Baseball Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors in Ventura County, CA who are active in baseball and plan to continue the sport at the college level. Applications that have shown exemplary teamwork and sportsmanship both on and off field will be considered. $1,000 scholarship offered.

Additional Information: The Mike Frick Memorial Baseball Scholarship Fund is provided annually through the Ventura County Community Foundation in memory of Mike Frick. Award selection will be based largely on the student's appreciation for and efforts related to baseball. Judges will favor those applications that have shown exemplary teamwork and sportsmanship both on and off the field.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for the Vivian Klemz Memorial Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
