Number of Awards & Eligibility: 25 scholarships offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade scale (equivalent to a B average).
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must plan to enroll full time.
  5. Must be the dependent child or a direct descendant of an active, reserve, retired or honorably discharged member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, U.S.-flag Merchant Marine, or U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
  6. Must be a senior in high school at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for high school seniors who plan to enroll full time in an accredited institution. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for this award. Students must be the dependent child or direct descendant of an active, reserve, retired or honorablydischarged member of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, U.S.-flag Merchant Marine, or U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

Application requirements for the Navy League Foundation Scholarship Program are:

Additional Information: This year, the Navy League Foundation will award the following named four-year scholarships: Alaska Sea Service Scholarship; Albert Levinson Scholarship; Ann E. Clark Scholarship; Jack and Eileen Anderson Scholarship; John G. Brokaw Scholarship; RADM William A. Sullivan, USN (Ret) Scholarship; United Armed Forces Association Scholarship; and the Wesley C. Cameron Scholarship.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for three years as long a grade point average of 3.0 or higher is maintained.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available from the Navy League of the United States website. In addition to the signed and completed application, each student must submit a one-page personal statement explaining why he/she should be considered for the award, high school transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, proof of sea service duty (a copy of discharge papers or a current military ID card from the sea service member of whom he/she is a dependent) and one letter of recommendation. Students must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline date (must be submitted with application). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The applicant may include up to two additional sheets listing his/her scholastic/extracurricular acitivities. All applications must be received online by the deadline date.
