Number of Awards & Eligibility: Thirty awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be the son or daughter of an enlisted member of the Navy, Marines or Coast Guard on active duty, or retired with pay, or deceased.
  4. Must be a full-time student.
  5. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  6. Must have a 2.5 grade point average or higher.
  7. Must have a mother or father who is (or was) enlisted in the Navy, Marines or Coast Guard.

Description: This award is for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are dependents of an enlisted member or the Navy, Marines or Coast Guard on active duty, retired with pay, or deceased. The student must apply to an accredited post-secondary school, show financial need and have a valid Dependent I.D. Card.

Additional Information: Navy Wives Clubs of America is the country's only National Federation of Sea Services Spouses. The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of those in the Naval Services. The NWCA awards 30 scholarships annually to full-time students, including incoming freshmen, upperclassmen, medical students, special education majors and the children of NWCA members. The NWCA awards scholarships based on financial need. Students who are dependents of NWCA members will have priority consideration over other applicants.

Award Amount: Scholarships amounts vary, but typically range between $500 to $1,000 annually for full-time students. Awards are renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available online from the Navy Wives Clubs of America (NWCA) website. In addition to the completed application, students must apply to an accredited post-secondary school, submit official transcripts and additional documentation, as well as an essay that details the student's career objectives. Students must submit a copy of a valid Dependent I.D. Card (U.S. Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege card). Students must send the completed application by U.S. mail to the NWCA by the deadline date.
