Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 6 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must be a resident of North Carolina.
  3. Must attend a college or university in North Carolina.
  4. Must be employed in retail, or have a parent/legal guardian who is employed in retail.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in North Carolina who are employed in retail or who have a parent or legal guardian who is employed in retail. Selection will be based on work history and academic achievement.

Additional Information: The North and South Carolina Scholarship Programs are provided by the Retail – Consumer Alliance Foundation, North Carolina Retail Merchants Association, and the CarolinasFood Industry Council to benefit their members and employees.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA) website using the link provided. In addition to the completed application form, students must submit the following items: employment history and work verification; a release form allowing the NCRMA access to academic information; the guidance counselor's section; and an official transcript of all high school coursework completed. Final and completed applications must be submitted to the provided address and must postmarked no later than March 25.
