Additional Information: The New Theatre Guild Scholarship Endowment Fund is provided annually to students at University of Kansas, University of Central Missouri and University of Missouri, Kansas City who are majoring in theater. Award selection will be based on teacher recommendations, academic records, and unmet financial need. Additional questions and requests for information should be directed to the theater department of the university the student is attending. This scholarship is administered through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF), a local area charity founded in 1978 with the purpose of providing a dedicated and consolidated resource for diverse and otherwise unrelated charity efforts. From its humble beginnings, the scope of the GKCCF has expanded to include the broader regional area, as well as national inititatives, scholarships, and other programs designed to benefit communities across the country.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications and information about the New Theatre Guild Scholarship Endowment Fund are available online at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) website. To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a completed online application form as well as the following documents and responses to the supplemental questions: a completed educational budget section of the application; an essay of up to 500 words in length addressing the topic on the application; a brief personal statement detailing any unusual circumstances or causes of financial need; and a letter of recommendation from someone who is not related to the applicant. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will be discarded.
