In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to attend Ohio Northern University.
  4. Must be a first-time freshman or incoming transfer student.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must be the dependent son or daughter of an ONU graduate.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Recommendation letter (incoming freshmen)
Additional Information: Ohio Northern University attracts students of outstanding achievement through recognition programs aimed toward rewarding deserving scholarship and talent. On average, students receive approximately $22,000 in combined need-based and merit-based financial aid annually.

Award Amount: Up to $3,000 annually, renewable for up to three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Ohio Northern University (ONU) website. There is not a separate application for this award. The student will be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit official transcripts (with grade point average and class rank); ACT/SAT scores; high school teacher or counselor recommendation form or letter (incoming freshman only); and a personal statement of 250 or more words. A transfer applicant must submit his/her final high school transcript and college transcripts from all colleges previously attended. Applications are accepted year-round, but for maximum consideration, the student should apply by Dec. 1. Applications must be sent to the Office of Admissions at the address provided.
