Award Amount: Approximately $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available on the Rhode Island Foundation website. The student must click on the "Scholarship/Fellowship Opportunities" link and then search for his/her desired scholarship to access the application. As part of the online application, the student must upload the following required documents: a completed 'Financial Information Worksheet' (accessible for download in the application); a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report), which is generated after filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); the most recent version of his/her student transcript (unofficial accepted); an essay of 300 words or less on the topic listed on the application; a resumé or a list of activities in which he/she participates; and one letter of recommendation completed by a representative of an organization for which he/she has volunteered that describes his/her service to their agency. Documents must be in Word, Excel, or PDF formats. File names should describe the attachment. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
