Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be the son or daughter of a member in good standing of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE).
  4. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors who are sons or daughters of International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada (IATSE) members in good standing.

Additional Information: The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada was originally chartered by the American Federation of Labor as the National Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees in 1893. The name has evolved over the course of 110 years of geographic and craft expansion as well as technological advancement. The current title, adopted in 1995, more accurately reflects the full scope of the alliance's activities in the entertainment industry. Applicants must have applied or plan to apply for admission to an accredited college/university as a fully matriculated student. The winners of the scholarship awards will be notified by the foundation in May or June, and will be announced in a future issue of 'The Official Bulletin'.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Application information is available on the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE) website. Students may request an application from the IATSE or download one from the website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript; a SAT/ACT score report or other equivalent examinations may also be submitted, either by the student or by the testing organization; and any letters of recommendation that he/she wishes to submit from a teacher or clergman. A completed application and additional materials must be submitted by the deadline date and sent to the address provided.
