In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must attend Rocky Mount Senior High School in North Carolina.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created in honor and memory of Kate Parks Kitchens, a beloved teacher at Rocky Mount High School (RMHS) in Rocky Mount, NC. The award was established by the graduating class of 1942 and continues to provide annual scholarships for graduating seniors in the city who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, patriotism, service, and reliability. Additional consideration will be given to descendents of the RMHS class of 1942 if and when such relationships can be established and verified.

Award Amount: Up to $4,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Additional information is available online from the Triangle Community Foundation website. Applications are available from the Rocky Mount Senior High School guidance office. All applications and supporting documentation must be received at the RMSHS guidance office no later than the deadline date.
