Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Six different merit awards are offered: Billiken; Billiken Catholic; Ignatian; University; Deans; and Vice President (Provost).
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or incoming transfer student.
  4. Must attend Saint Louis University in Missouri.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Must plan to attend a college or university in Missouri.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors and transfer students with under 24 hours of college coursework completed who have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher will be automatically considered for merit-based scholarships upon admission to Saint Louis University in Missouri.

Application requirements for the Saint Louis University Merit Scholarship are:

  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: After the priority deadline, scholarships will be awarded as funds are available. Transfer students who have completed fewer than 24 semester hours of college credit (not including college credit earned during high school) may, at the discretion of the University, be given consideration for one of its freshman merit-based scholarships.

Award Amount: $8,000 to $23,000 annually, renewable for up to three years as long as the student maintains the specified grade point average for each award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $62,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Saint Louis University website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student will be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed admissions application, the must submit transcripts, an essay, Secondary School Report Form, and SAT/ACT scores. The applicant should apply by the deadline date for priority consideration.
