Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. All eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an incoming first-time freshman.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
  3. Must have an SAT score (reading/math) of 1350 or higher OR an ACT score of 31 or higher.
  4. Must plan to attend Saint Mary's College of California.
  5. This award is for international and U.S. students.

Description: This award is available to U.S. high school seniors who are planning to attend Saint Mary's College of California. The student must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher and an SAT score (reading/math) of 1350 or higher or an ACT score of 31 or higher.

Additional Information: Saint Mary's College is a Catholic, liberal arts college, and is rooted in the life and work of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and the patron saint of teachers. Eligibility for the Saint Mary's College of California Presidential Scholars Scholarship is highly competitive and is determined based on the student's academic profile at the time of admission. Qualified applicants typically have at least a 3.8 grade point average in a demanding college prep program and similarly competitive ACT or SAT scores. Rigor of college prep program and class standing will also be considered.

Award Amount: $30,000 annually, renewable for three additional years if the student maintains satisfactory academic standing and submits a renewal form.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $30,000.
