Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be of Asian-Indian heritage with at least one parent of Indian ancestry.
  5. Must plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in a U.S. university in fall.
  6. Must reside in the United States.

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors of Asian-Indian heritage with at least one parent Indian ancestry. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and plan to enroll full time in an undergraduate program.

Additional Information: Though not a criteria for eligibility, applicants with financial need as indicated by Adjusted Gross Income and/or number of family members simultaneously in college will be given special consideration. Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 30th. All winners will also be listed on the SEED Foundation website.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in January for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available at the SEED Foundation website. The applicant must register with the online application system by submitting his/her email address and choosing a unique password for the SEED Foundation system. As part of the online application, the student must submit essay responses to the questions on the application. All essays have a maximum limit of 1,000 characters. In addition to the completed online application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript indicating grade point average and SAT/ACT scores; one sealed letter of recommendation; a copy of his/her legal guardian's current IRS 1040 form; a 'Verification Form' (section 2 of the application) that has been completed by his/her guidance counselor and parent; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is generated by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The application form must be completed online; all additional documents, including the Verification Form, must be mailed to the address provided. All application materials are due by 11 p.m. EST on the deadline date. Applicants may not send their application materials by certified mail or any other service that requires a signature; doing so will render the application ineligible.
