Number of Awards & Eligibility: Nine awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll as a college freshman in the upcoming academic year at an accredited two- or four-year college.
  4. Must be a resident of Seminole County, Florida.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to high school seniors/graduate who reside in Seminole County, Florida, and plan to enroll as a college freshman in the upcoming academic year. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate unmet financial need.

Application requirements for the Seminoles Scholars Program are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA
Additional Information: All applicants must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to show unmet need.

Award Amount: $1,250 annually, renewable for three additional years (total award $5,000).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in October for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available on the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) website. The student must establish an account using his/her email address to log in and access the online application. As part of the application, the student must submit the following materials: a current transcript; a personal statement; and contact information for a reference who can discuss his/her leadership potential. Instructions will be provided to the reference for submission of the reference form. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
