Number of Awards & Eligibility: Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to attend Southern New Hampshire University.
  4. Must be the dependent of an SNHU alumnus, including a graduate of any associatee's, bachelor's or master's degree program.
  5. Must enroll full time in the undergraduate day program.
  6. Must be an incoming college freshman or transfer student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Application requirements for the SNHU Alumni Family Scholarship are:

  • Transfer Form
  • Transcript Request Form (transfers only)
  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Counselor Recommendation Form (freshmen only)
  • $40 app. fee
Additional Information: This scholarship is awarded during the admission review process.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) website. There is not a separate application for this award. The student is considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit submit a $40 application fee, an essay of 250 or more words on one of the four topics listed within the application; and a 'Guidance Counselor Recommendation Form' (available within the application). Only freshman applicants need to submit the 'Guidance Counselor Recommendation Form'. Transfer students must submit the 'Supplemental Transfer Form', and a 'Transcript Request Form'. The application and essay may be submitted online, but the 'Supplemental Transfer Form' and 'Transcript Request Form' must be mailed to SNHU at the address provided. Students must apply by March 15 for fall semester priority and Dec. 1 for spring semester.
