Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to enroll full time at an accredited college or university.
  3. Must be involved and/or interested in music and/or the creative arts in some way.
  4. Must be a resident of Washington or Oregon.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: International and U.S. high school seniors who are residents of Washington or Oregon are eligible for this award. Students must be involved and/or interested in music and/or the creative arts in some way and plan to enroll full time at an accredited college or university.

Application requirements for the Sub Pop ‘Loser’ Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Selection for this award is based solely on the applicant's activities in the arts and/or music scene. Equal opportunity is given to all applicants.

Award Amount: Awards are given in the following amounts: $7,000; $5,000; and $3,000. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

There is no application for this award. To apply for this scholarship, the student must submit a one-page typed or handwritten essay discussing what he/she is doing in the arts and/or music field in his/her community, how and/or why he/she became interested in artistic outlets, why he/she needs the scholarship money, what his/her influences are and/or who inspires him/her, and some of his/her favorite bands and/or artists. The applicant is encouraged to send digital links and provide hard copies of his/her artwork along with the essay. Sub Pop will not return any of the materials submitted so an applicant should not send originals of his/her work. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by email to [email protected] and must be received by the deadline date.
