Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants. Last year, there were eight scholarships given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must attend Tallahassee Community College (TCC).
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a high school senior, college freshman, or college sophomore to apply for this undergraduate award.

Description: The scholarship is for students involved in forensics, theater, dance or the arts who plan to attend Tallahassee Community College.

Application requirements for the TCC Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • FAFSA
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: The award was established to provide financial assistance to a student who is involved in forensics, theater, dance or the arts, and is also active in the school activities.

Award Amount: $85 to $950 per semester, not automatically renewable. Eligible applicants may reapply each semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $518.

Applications are available on the Tallahassee Community College (TCC) website. To begin the financial aid application process, the student should submit his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to the federal processor. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. TCC's school code for use on the FAFSA is 001533; the student should designate TCC as a school to which he/she desires results to be sent. The student's FAFSA results will then be sent automatically to TCC. After receipt of the student's FAFSA results by TCC, he/she should then complete the TCC scholarship application. The application must be completed online; there is no paper application available. Only one application is necessary to be considered for all TCC scholarships for which the student is eligible. To be considered for this specific scholarship, the student must submit two letters of recommendation and an essay describing why he/she should be selected in addition to the TCC scholarship application.
