Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must plan to pursue a career in a field related to public beautification such as architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, horticulture, environmental and marine sciences, urban and land planning, or environmental design.
  2. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students who are enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university. Applicants must plan to pursue a career in a field related to public beautification such as architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, horticulture, environmental and marine sciences, urban and land planning, or environmental design.

  • Recommendation letter
  • Personal statement
  • Transcript
Additional Information: Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement, community service and involvement, and commitment to the student's chosen career as demonstrated the essay and personal statement submissions. Recipients will be asked to submit official copies of transcripts prior to the award, but students should not send official transcripts with initial applications.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at The Fence Authority website at the link provided. To apply for this award, students must complete the online application form that consists of the following documents: a copy of transcripts; proof of enrollment or acceptance; a short personal statement of 100 to 200 words that introduces the applicant on a personal level; an essay of 300 to 500 words describing the applicant's choice of major and career goals; proof of community service and/or involvement; and a letter of recommendation. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted no later than the deadline date.
