Number of Awards & Eligibility: 38 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity counties of California.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. This award is for U.S. and international students.

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Butte, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity counties of California. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate unmet financial need.

Additional Information: Tri Counties Bank is partnering with the United Way of Northern California to provide multiple scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Northern California. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and preferably, a strong potential for leadership.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the United Way of Northern California website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must submit a completed application form including the following attached documents: an essay of one page or less; a letter of recommendation from an acquaintance, teacher, or employer; a complete copy of transcripts for all high school coursework completed; and a cover page of the student's family's most recent tax returns. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted by mail, email, or personal delivery. Completed applications must be received no later than 4 pm on the deadline date.
